Funerals

Everyone is entitled to a Church of England funeral even if they would not normally consider themselves ‘religious’. You do not need to be a member of our church to have your funeral in our church,  or for it to be taken by the vicar at a crematorium.

Church of England funerals are, of course, Christian in nature, but within that framework you can include music, readings, tributes and poems etc. which are personal to you.

Although you will probably organise your loved one’s funeral with a funeral director there is some useful, practical advice here from the Church of England.

We also run a bereavement group – help and support for as long as you need it.

If you would like to speak to a priest – contact the vicar, 01992 640338 or use the contact form  but please be aware that this is not sent using a secure method and is therefore not encrypted, so please do not enter any confidential information. The information you provide is only used for the purpose of replying to your email and dealing with your enquiry. For further details, please refer to our Privacy Notice.
