Everyone is entitled to a Church of England funeral even if they would not normally consider themselves ‘religious’. You do not need to be a member of our church to have your funeral in our church,  or for it to be taken by the vicar at a crematorium. The cost of a crematorium funeral is £222 and a church funeral is around £370 (or £420 in the winter).

Church of England funerals are, of course, Christian in nature, but within that framework you can include music, readings, tributes and poems etc. which are personal to you.

Although you will probably organise your loved one’s funeral with a funeral director there is some useful, practical advice here from the Church of England.
